1. How did this collaboration between Vosteed and Divo Knives first come together?

This collaboration started as an OEM project for Divo Knives. However, we then thought it would be cool to see what Vosteed would do with the model, so we pivoted to a licensing agreement.

2. If each of you had to pick one detail that best represents Nip-L, what would it be?

For me (Kevin/LeftyEDC) it would be the ergonomics of the design. The finger choil and handle design just works so well. For Colin it would be the Wharncliffe style blade shape.

3. Were there any parts of the design that the two of you saw differently at first? ( Colin & Kevin)

No, we have a very fluid design process with Colin being the main design arm of Divo, and myself bringing the concepts and details to the design. We can then go back and forth with tweaks and respect each other enough to know when to go forward with one persons’ thought process or the others. Open and transparent communication makes the process very easy for us.

4. What do you think makes Nip-L stand out from other knives in its category?

The Nip-L stands out because of the top notch ergonomic design as well as the beauty & functionality of the Nip blade shape. The standard Nip is an amazing 5th pocket utility knife, it only stands to reason that the Nip-L will deliver the same performance, but in a larger package. We are excited to see how people enjoy using this knife in their daily tasks.

5. What part of Nip-L feels the most “Divo Knives” to you?

The combination of its utility style blade shape & finger choil/ergonomic design is what gives the Nip-L a Divo feel!

6. Does Nip-L have a backstory or specific inspiration that you'd like to share with us? For example, what led to the name "Nip-L", and what idea or moment sparked this design?

The Nip-L is a Large version of our popular 5th pocket Nip design. We also have a slip joint version of the Nip, called the Nip Slip which was available exclusively at TPK. We thought making a larger version would be awesome, and the TLL seemed like a great fit for it, so we contracted Vosteed to make prototypes before deciding to license the model to Vosteed instead. This is how the Nip-L (Nipple) was born.

7. If you had to recommend Nip-L to knife enthusiasts in just one sentence, what would that sentence be?

Enjoy the slicey and utility driven fun of the Divo X Vosteed Nip-L with excellent ergonomics and the industry’s most fidgety locking mechanism, the TLL!
