The Designer Said (Wayne Walter of Wayne’s Sharp World)
Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the Thornton. This knife pays homage to my grandfather, Wayne Thornton Walter, along with my love for aviation and travel. The design inspiration comes from a Boeing 737. In addition, my grandfather was a mechanical squad leader for aircraft in the Solomon and Philippine Islands during World War II. The Thornton was designed with love, gratitude and a wanderlust spirit in hopes that this knife will make a great companion for your next adventure or EDC task.
The Blade
Billed as a “simple and low-key knife,” the Thornton features a versatile and reliable 3.18” 14C28N sheepsfoot blade, known for its excellent balance of corrosion resistance, hardness, and edge performance. It ensures that the knife can handle a variety of tasks with ease, from everyday cutting to more demanding outdoor activities.
The Handle
The Thornton boasts a beefy and ergonomic handle that offers a secure and comfortable grip for a variety of tasks. With four different handle variations to choose from, including dual G10 for a bold and eye-catching look, and Micarta for a more natural feel.
The Action
Equipped with ceramic ball bearing system and Trek Lock mechanism, the Thornton can be easily opened with either a thumb stud or front flipper. The button is intentionally set to be recessed, reducing the chance of accidental deployment or closure. Simply press the button on the handle, you can open or close the knife without any impediment. Enjoy the seamless operation!

I had pre-ordered mine in the black and orange. The fantastic design got my attention the moment I first saw it. Getting in my hand didn't disappoint! The action is smooth with multiple deployment options. The detent is just as good with only needing gravity for a smooth close. This was actually my very first Vosteed and won't be my last!!!
Came packaged well, blade is sharp. Push button lock is a bit sticky, button cut out is small and it’s hard to the button pushed in all the way every time. Over all it’s a nice knife for the price.
All around an awesome knife!! Great feel and functionality!
Hey everyone, Wayne here (yes, Wayne the designer of the knife. Full transparency haha!). I do think the Thornton is a fantastic budget EDC knife. It has everything I look for… great aesthetics, perfect blade to handle ratio, awesome action, very comfortable ergonomics, quality materials, a slicey blade and a very high fidget factor. No surprise, right? It is truly my favorite budget EDC knife!
Well made, smooth action, beautiful design. Such a great knife at a fantastic price.
