Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the Thornton. This knife pays homage to my grandfather, Wayne Thornton Walter, along with my love for aviation and travel. The design inspiration comes from a Boeing 737. In addition, my grandfather was a mechanical squad leader for aircraft in the Solomon and Philippine Islands during World War II. The Thornton was designed with love, gratitude and a wanderlust spirit in hopes that this knife will make a great companion for your next adventure or EDC task.

    The Blade

Billed as a “simple and low-key knife,” the Thornton features a versatile and reliable 3.18” 14C28N sheepsfoot blade, known for its excellent balance of corrosion resistance, hardness, and edge performance. It ensures that the knife can handle a variety of tasks with ease, from everyday cutting to more demanding outdoor activities.

    The Handle

The Thornton boasts a beefy and ergonomic handle that offers a secure and comfortable grip for a variety of tasks. With four different handle variations to choose from, including dual G10 for a bold and eye-catching look, and Micarta for a more natural feel.

    The Action

Equipped with ceramic ball bearing system and Trek Lock mechanism, the Thornton can be easily opened with either a thumb stud or front flipper. The button is intentionally set to be recessed, reducing the chance of accidental deployment or closure. Simply press the button on the handle, you can open or close the knife without any impediment. Enjoy the seamless operation!

    Ruminations on the Thornton - Trek Lock Knife (3.18" 14C28N Blade & G10 Handle) - A1702)

Another fine, hair-popping sharp offering from the fine folks at Vosteed. Maybe a bit reminiscent of the Raccoon variants, but that's nit-picking, isn't it?
