Shilin Cutter® is a time-honored Taiwanese knife style, the earliest record dates back to almost 200 years ago. Rooted in agricultural and farming practices, the wide blade on the Shilin Cutter® allows for efficient cutting and slicing through different materials such as wood, stems, leaves, carton boxes, paper, tubes, and cables.
Ergonomic Excellence
Different from our Nightshade®, the Shilin Cutter® employs a wider and more contoured handle that will offer extra grip and control, as well as a natural fit for big hands.
The blade cutting edge drops downward creating a negative blade angle, which allows the blade cutting edge to lower than the user's index finger so the wrist is in alignment. It is comfortable when you use the knife for a long period of time, it requires less pressure to be applied by your wrist.
Patented Vanchor Lock®
Our 2-in-1 locking system combines a pivot and button, allowing for a safe and intuitive way to operate the knife.
The Vanchor lock® integrates a magnetic connector and a robust lock plate, working together to ensure both stability and reinforcement. Additionally, the lock's design guarantees that the pivot/button remains recessed, regardless of the lock's engagement, for seamless operation and a sleek appearance.

I have been a knife collector for 50 plus years,I own a slew of knifes and had really scaled back on my knife purchases because I either owned a similar knife or the cost value of many of the brands just weren’t a value.I have no problem with spending good money for a knife that will perform,made well and made with quality parts but frankly many of these name brand knife companies slap gold bullion prices on these knives of theirs as if there is no competition to them.Well think again this company (Vosteed) is producing some incredible knives at very fair ,valued prices ! The Shilin cutter with Elmax steel blade and carbon fiber scales is an absolute stunner,engineered with precision details and high end materials.I am extremely pleased this purchase and have my sights on a few other Vosteed models (when they are back in stock).

I'm a collector and have been blown away with this knife and arguably the most most fidgety knife I own. Vosteed did and incredible job with the carbon fiber/Elmax. The knife is lightweight and generally a fun tool to use. The feel and size of this knife is very similar to the Spyderco, Native 5 carbon fiber, which has been my go-to EDC a lot recentlgly. I'm very excited to have found this knife and company and can only hope to see the same knife with a longer, perhaps 3.5" blade in the future!
I love the nightshade. It’s an all time great knife. So when I saw the Shilin cutter I really wanted it. Then the carbon fiber variant came out and I couldn’t resist any longer. I love the carbon fiber scales and blade size. The vanchor lock is inconsistent and sometimes gritty. But the lock up is amazing. Mine came sharp, but not as sharp as some of my other Vosteeds. Really glad I added it to my collection.
