Shilin Cutter is a time-honored Taiwanese knife style, the earliest record dates back to almost 200 years ago. Rooted in agricultural and farming practices, the wide blade on the Shilin Cutter® allows for efficient cutting and slicing through different materials such as wood, stems, leaves, carton boxes, paper, tubes, and cables.

 

Ergonomic Excellence

Different from our Nightshade, the Shilin Cutter employs a wider and more contoured handle that will offer extra grip and control, as well as a natural fit for big hands.

The blade cutting edge drops downward creating a negative blade angle, which allows the blade cutting edge to lower than the user's index finger so the wrist is in alignment. It is comfortable when you use the knife for a long period of time, it requires less pressure to be applied by your wrist. 

 

Patented Vanchor Lock®

Our 2-in-1 locking system combines a pivot and button, allowing for a safe and intuitive way to operate the knife.

The Vanchor lock integrates a magnetic connector and a robust lock plate, working together to ensure both stability and reinforcement. Additionally, the lock's design guarantees that the pivot/button remains recessed, regardless of the lock's engagement, for seamless operation and a sleek appearance.

Excellent design

I have a mini nightshade and I love it, but this is an awesome upgrade. The blade shape improves almost every cutting task. I don't have a full size Nightshade, never a big fan of the liner lock, but the Vanchor lock is very impressive. I have an Ankylo with the Vanchor lock and love to see it on another model. Many have attempted a pivot lock, but it usually doesn't work well enough to make it on another knife. It doesn't surprise me that Vosteed was the first to perfect it. Vosteed just keeps the hits coming. When I pick out a knife to carry every morning, it's often a Vosteed. Their top liner lock is the best execution of that design I have tried. They improved on the Nightshade by implementing the Vanchor lock & an Elmax blade. The aluminum scales have a texture that actually makes aluminum grippy. I can't wait to see what they do next!

Fidgety but small

Great little knife, just wish it was bigger. Would be great to see this in an 8" version for those of us with larger hands.

5 stars and I don’t have one yet

I own several Vosteed knives and last I spoke to customer service I asked about other knives built with a V anchor lock and which one would be first. I like the choice because of the blade shape I love and the more premium options. I missed the drop so I’m getting a reminder. I was talking to someone about it and it turned out I called the knife a kizer militaw Because I had just watched a commercial and I think I offended someone in your customer service department because they told me to leave and go to Kizer then! I apologized but the feed was cut. So will I get one or will I be pushed back?
In all fairness I had my 11 mo old granddaughter sleeping on me after she was up all day with teeth coming in 4 at a time and she wants grandpa when she’s not sleeping because some how all my grandkids find me their teddy bear. So I want Elmax and aluminum but in a different color than orange. Vosteed has never let me down with fit and quality so going with my gut the chillen is going to be perfect!!
