  • The nearly hidden lock bar is secured inside the handle with a stainless-steel plate and further reinforced by a solid steel backspacer.
  • The Porcupine offers effortless one-handed opening and closing, thanks to its large thumbhole design.

Pointy Tip and Big Belly Blade

  • The generous blade belly makes slicing tasks—such as cutting meat, fruits, and vegetables—an absolute breeze.
  • The pointy tip delivers precision for tasks like opening packages, cutting ropes, and slicing through cardboard.
  • The 2.99" 14C28N blade offers excellent edge retention, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening.

Comfort Grip

  • With a 1.22" wide handle, the Porcupine comfortably accommodates medium to large hands.
  • Choose between G10 or Micarta handle materials to match your style and preference.
  • The forward choil provides versatile grip options, while the dedicated handle choil prevents hand slippage during heavy use.
  • The barrel lanyard tube enhances convenience for carrying, retrieving, and storing your knife while adding structural support to the handle.

Detailed Features

  • Jimping ensures maximum grip and control at all key touchpoints.
  • A stabilizing pin reinforces the handle, preventing deformation over time.
  • All T8 screws simplify maintenance, requiring just a single screwdriver.

It's like the psyop's younger sibling

The top liner lock is a treat, smooth and responsive and the action glides nicely even though it's still breaking in. Blade came super sharp and the handle feels comfortable in the hand. It's more comparable in weight feel of a racoon but nothing feels out of place. Great design and very fidgety and fun to use. I always like the Vosteed satin finish blades.
Going back to the Psyop comparison I would just love it if the porcupine also had the front flipper similar to that of the psyop and i do find I had to become familiar with best thumb and finger position for both thumb and reverse flippers, once you know, which is pretty quick, its back to fidget gold.
Very happy with this and when I have more fund will get the other satin blade variant.

Just one issue

Only issue is the pocket clip. I like the look of it and it’s nice to see a different kind of clip but it’s not very good. Doesn’t stay secured enough. Slides too much and scratches the Micarta up. Soft and bends to easily. Thankfully I don’t usually use the clip anyway on my knives and sometimes just completely remove them as I did with this one. So besides the clip the rest of the knife is fantastic. Glad I was finally able to get my hands on one. Vosteed making some great knives.

Checks All The Boxes

Vosteed’s Porcupine, checks all the boxes for me: beautiful lock design, blade shape and functional ergometrics. Waiting for another one to be back in stock.

Nice little Porcupine

I like it. Not to big. But i think the top liner lock is a bit to strong ..! I have trouble opening it smoothly.
