Designed in close collaboration with Geoff Blauvelt of Tuff Knives, every detail was refined together — from the clean, modern lines to the retro character, all the way to the asymmetrical bolster and Norplex UltreX™ Micarta handle.

More Edge, Same Comfortable Feel

At 2.99", the US-made Crucible S35VN blade delivers excellent edge retention and corrosion resistance. On this compact Psyop, we refined the blade-to-handle ratio by minimizing the blade choil, giving it a longer, more uninterrupted cutting edge for better slicing performance.

Some users prefer a larger choil for a more forward grip and added control. That's why this version doesn't replace the big Psyop — it simply offers another option for those who want maximum edge length in a more compact format.

Dedicated to the Hand, Refined in Detail

Purposefully designed to merge vintage character with modern minimalism, the handle features US-made Norplex UltreX™ Micarta scales paired with the Psyop's signature asymmetrical bolster.

This version features a laser-engraved Celtic floral pattern on the bolster, adding a refined layer of character to the design. Combined with the textured Micarta, it gives the Psyop 299 a more distinctive look without changing its core feel.

For comfort and control, every edge is carefully chamfered, while the full liner construction delivers a solid, confident feel in hand.

We know how much people enjoy the Top Liner Lock, so our engineering team went deep into fine-tuning the bar's length, width, height, and travel. The result is a lock that feels just right for this size — secure, intuitive, and satisfying every time you open it. The thumb stud keeps deployment quick and familiar.

Grip & Utility

To improve grip and control during opening and use, we added jimping to the front of the handle and the spine of the blade — a subtle but meaningful upgrade for more secure handling.
