The Raccoon features a 3.25’’ cleaver blade with simple geometry. 14C28N blade steel offers excellent in-class corrosion resistance and toughness and is easy to sharpen. A 3 to 1 blade length and width ratio, a nice belly, and a comfortable choil make the Raccoon an excellent choice for everyday carry use.
CROSS-BAR LOCK
The Raccoon sports cross-bar lock that is well-packed solid construction. You can fully enjoy this ambidextrous design. Combined with its dual thumb-studs deployment and a well-tuned detent, the Raccoon can be opened and closed with a silky smooth action.

The 4.35-inch-long handle offers a decent grip and an excellent blade-to-handle ratio. The well-chamfered Micarta makes the handle a joy to hold and the handle shape is great for both normal grip and choke-up grip. It comes with a reversible pocket clip, the height of the clip is increased to accommodate thicker jeans/pants.

Tyler Caton I always prefer micarta scales. To have them on a folder is awesome. Especially with a crossbar locking mechanism. Solid steel. Sharp out if the box.

John I will be as honest as possible. The Vosteed Raccoon is one of the better knives I've ever bought, regardless of the price. I ordered a model with a cleaver blade and a black micarta handle. The manufacturing quality is top notch, the centering of the blade is perfect, very well sharpened right out of the box! But blade play in no direction, and it is unexpectedly light. 14C28N is the best balanced steel in my opinion, all in all, for 60 dollars it is worth buying.

Eric Mettes Not rewarding it five stars because it's not as unique and awesome as the Mini Nightshade, and the Raccoon is in many ways similar to my Kunwu Pulsar which is just bettter in most ways (albeit at about four times the price...). For what it's worth, I do think the Raccoon sheepsfoot has the better looking blade and there's nothing I don't like about it, so I guess that's a recommendation;)

Shah T. Well-made with some tinkering to this version. With the cleaver blade profile, the handle feels lighter, overall weight is also much lighter. The centre of gravity leans more towards the blade as compared to the standard model. I'm loving it.
