WELL-CONSTRUCTED BLADE

The Raccoon features a 3.25’’ cleaver blade with simple geometry. 14C28N blade steel offers excellent in-class corrosion resistance and toughness and is easy to sharpen. A 3 to 1 blade length and width ratio, a nice belly, and a comfortable choil make the Raccoon an excellent choice for everyday carry use.

CROSS-BAR LOCK

The Raccoon sports cross-bar lock that is well-packed solid construction. You can fully enjoy this ambidextrous design. Combined with its dual thumb-studs deployment and a well-tuned detent, the Raccoon can be opened and closed with a silky smooth action.

FANTASTIC HANDLE ERGOS

The 4.35-inch-long handle offers a decent grip and an excellent blade-to-handle ratio. The well-chamfered Micarta makes the handle a joy to hold and the handle shape is great for both normal grip and choke-up grip. It comes with a reversible pocket clip, the height of the clip is increased to accommodate thicker jeans/pants.

READY FOR EDC ADVENTURE

In many cultures, raccoons are viewed as playful tricksters and are known for their resourcefulness, curiosity, and adaptability. You will enjoy having this fun, reliable, and pragmatic Raccoon with you. The Raccoon will be an awesome team member for your EDC adventure and galaxy-guarding tasks.

Yeah...

This is my least favorite knife to manipulate in my collection: the amount of deployment/close fails is just frustrating. The lock bar studs are perhaps too tall along with the blade not weighing enough so it, and the locking mechanism, works against the locking mechanism. I don't know, but it's a chore to work. And yes, I've added some lube to help it. And yes I've several other bar style locking knives that I've not had a problem with and enjoy.
The show side scale was also unfinished and smooth.

I also have the Valkryie which, while a drastically different knife, is a joy to manipulate and is otherwise a completed piece. So, I do feel my Racoon was an anomaly and will purchase a Vosteed again if the design hits me.

This particular Racoon, your milage may vary, is not it for me.
