WELL-CONSTRUCTED BLADE

The Raccoon features a 3.25’’ cleaver blade with simple geometry. 14C28N blade steel offers excellent in-class corrosion resistance and toughness and is easy to sharpen. A 3 to 1 blade length and width ratio, a nice belly, and a comfortable choil make the Raccoon an excellent choice for everyday carry use.

CROSS-BAR LOCK

The Raccoon sports cross-bar lock that is well-packed solid construction. You can fully enjoy this ambidextrous design. Combined with its dual thumb-studs deployment and a well-tuned detent, the Raccoon can be opened and closed with a silky smooth action.

FANTASTIC HANDLE ERGOS

The 4.35-inch-long handle offers a decent grip and an excellent blade-to-handle ratio. The well-chamfered Micarta makes the handle a joy to hold and the handle shape is great for both normal grip and choke-up grip. It comes with a reversible pocket clip, the height of the clip is increased to accommodate thicker jeans/pants.

Just feels right in my hand

Great knife very light very comfortable!

No Hesitation

This is a great knife. My last one got confiscated at the airport. I completely forgot it was in my pocket, and by the time I realized it, it was to late. So once I got to my destination I didn't even contemplate what type of knife to replace it with. There was no hesitation to get online and order another raccoon. The knife operated very smooth, and very quietly. The blade is strong and comes from the maker with a nice sharp edge. I am very happy with my purchase and will definitely explore more knives from Vosteed.

Good. Not great.

Still a good knife for the price, but the action is gritty when the crossbar is engaging the blade. This may work out over time, but lube didn't help and none of my other crossbar locks have this issue (e.g. my Kershaw Iridium cost less and runs perfectly smoothly).

Better than expected

Materials, craftsmanship and sharpening are excellent, as expected, but the ergonomics an daction are superior to the competition. Very happy with purchase.

Racoon cleaver

Sweet knife, I am glad Benchmade came out with that locking system because it’s the best I’ve seen.Great knife though,if I had a complaint it would be the clip I personally like a heavier clip secured with three screws, but we will have to see how it holds up.
